What Roger Federer has been upto this month: From selling his Switzerland property reportedly worth $42M to launching his signature tennis racquet

Roger Federer has been enjoying his time after he retired from professional tennis in 2022. Federer has been spending time with his family while constantly keeping his fans up-to-date with his latest whereabouts. Now, the former World No. 1 is back in the headlines after he launched his signature tennis racquet.

Federer has worked with manufacturing giants Wilson to create his own signature racquet. The Swiss maestro collaborated with the Chicago-based sporting manufacturers and created his personalized racquet from scratch. The racquet, inspired by his twin daughters Myla Rose and Charlena Riva and his twin sons Leo and Lenny, has been named RF 01.

Federer and Wilson have been together for a long time. Wilson has been Federer's racquet partner since his younger days dating back to 1998. The former World No. 1 has even signed a lifetime contract with Wilson.

Federer and Wilson had announced that they are working on a new racquet to suit the Swiss' style of play after his injury lay-off before his retirement. The 20-time Grand Slam champion wanted a faster racquet to compete upon his return from injury but that never materialized, and he announced his retirement in 2022.

Talking about his racquet, Federer said he was thinking about other players too while designing it.

"As we started building it, I was still thinking what do I need to come back? I started thinking for other players, what could they also use? I was doing quite extensive racquet testing and we landed here in a spot where I think the weight, the size, the shape of the frame, we landed on this very quickly," Federer told Newcomb.

The racquet consists of two thin white pinstripes that represent Federer's twin sons and daughters. The former World No. 1 played a big part in designing the racquet and believes that it would be a hit among the players and the fans.

Roger Federer finally sells his Herrliberg property for around $42 million

Roger Federer had been trying to sell his Herrliberg property for many years but in vain. However, the Swiss star has finally managed to sell it for around $42 million to the Zurich-based Amini Group.

The lavish property had a lake view but no lakefront and was built on the slopes of Herrliberg. Federer put the house on sale five years ago and has now finally found a buyer at the right price.

Federer currently lives at his home in Rapperswil-Jona with his family in a lavish property. The Swiss has built a 1200 square metre house with modern amenities. Federer is also building a six-building complex along with his house in Rapperswil-Jona. The complex will include an indoor tennis court and a sports complex.

Along with his house in Rapperswil-Jona, Federer is also planning to build a boat house on Lake Zurich, along with an 18-metre-long jetty. However, that project has now been halted after the Rives Publiques association launched a complaint against the 'privatization' of Lake Zurich. This project is expected to go through after the sale of Federer's Herrliberg property.
