Who are the Americans and Canadians still alive at Paris Olympics 2024? ft Taylor FritzĀ 

Tennis at the 2024 Paris Olympics will come to a close in the next few days. The American and Canadian contingents sent full-strength teams to the games, but only a handful of them remain at the Games currently.

On the men's side, Tommy Paul and Taylor Fritz are still in the competition whereas the Olympic dream of all the American female players has ended. On the Canadian side, Felix Auger-Aliassime is one notable name still alive in the competition.

Let's take a look at the American and Canadian players still active at the Paris Olympics


# USA's Tommy Paul Survives in singles and men's doubles; Taylor Fritz out of singles

The American contingent for the men's singles consisted of Tommy Paul, Taylor Fritz, Marcos Giron, and Christopher Eubanks. Of them, only Paul remains in the competition. After securing wins over Luciano Darderi, Jakub Mensik, and Corentin Moutet, Paul is slated to face Carlos Alcaraz in the quarter-finals. Fritz, who is the top-ranked American player, lost against Lorenzo Musetti in the third round.

The American contingent has fared better in the men's doubles. The team of Austin Karjicek and Rajeev Ram have reached the semi-final and are slated to face the Czech pair of Tomas Machac and Adam Pavlasek. The Krajicek-Ram pair secured an impressive victory over the marquee pair of Carlos Alcaraz and Rafael Nadal in the quarter-final.

The other American pair of Tommy Paul and Taylor Fritz have reached the quarter-finals and will face the British pair of Andy Murray and Dan Evans.


# All American Women ft. Coco Gauff and Danielle Collins crash out of the Paris Olympics

In the women's singles, the American team consisted of the quartet of Jessica Pegula, Coco Gauff, Emma Navarro, and Danielle Collins. All four of the American women have been eliminated from the competition, with only Collins advancing to the quarter-final stage of the competition. She had to retire in her match against top seed Iga Swiatek in the third set.

The American challenge in the women's doubles is over. In the women's doubles, the contingent consisted of two pairs, Coco Gauff-Jessica Pegula and Danielle Collins-Deirae Krawczyk. The pairs were seeded first and fourth respectively but both crashed out in the second round.

Gauff and Pegula lost to Linda Noskova- Karolina Muchova, while Collins and Krawczyk suffered a defeat against the Ukrainian pair of Lyudmyla Kichenok and Nadiia Kichenok.

In the mixed doubles, the American team of Coco Gauff and Taylor Fritz faced off against the Canadian pair of Felix Auger-Aliassime and Gabriela Dabrowski in the quarter-finals. The Canadian pair won the match in a third-set match tiebreaker.


# Canada's Felix Auger-Aliassime in contention in singles and mixed doubles

The Canadian contingent consisted of Milos Raonic and Felix Auger Aliassime in the men's singles. Even though Roanic bowed out in the first round, Aliassime reached the quarter-finals and is slated to face sixth-seeded Casper Ruud. The duo of Raonic and Aliassime teamed up in the men's doubles as well but had to bow out in the first round, losing to Tommy Paul and Taylor Fritz.

The women's singles saw Leylah Fernandez and Bianca Andreescu represent Canada at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Andreescu lost in the second round against 13th-seeded Donna Vekic, whereas Fernandez lost against Angelique Kerber in the third round.

Fernandez teamed up with Gabriela Dabrowski in the women's doubles, losing to the Russian Pair of Mirra Andreeva and Diana Shnaider in the second round. Dabrowski is still alive in the mixed doubles with Felix Suger-Aliassime.
