"Who broke my baby's heart?" - Victoria Azarenka teases son Leo as he passionately 'sings his heart out' to Juice WRLD's emotional hit 'Lucid Dreams'
Victoria Azarenka recently enjoyed some quality time with her son Leo during a fun car ride. The former World No. 1 playfully expressed her surprise at the seven-year-old's passionate rendition of a breakup song by late American rapper Juice WRLD.
Azarenka has begun her preparations for the 2025 season in Florida, chronicling her intense training sessions on social media. The Belarusian has also been bonding with her son Leo, from attending his hockey games to embracing her role as a "soccer mom."
Victoria Azarenka shared a glimpse of her car ride with Leo in the backseat. The former World No. 1 jokingly wondered whether somebody had broken the seven-year-old's heart as he passionately belted out Juice WRLD's hit song 'Lucid Dreams,' in which the late rapper explores the pain of a breakup.
"Who broke my baby's heart? 😂 singing his heart out 😂," Azarenka posted on her Instagram story.
Azarenka recently also highlighted the "relatable" parenting challenge of Leo avoiding her hugs in front of his teammates while she was supporting him at his hockey tournament.
"My son Leo doesn’t want to give me hugs in front of his teammates 😂 I’m at his hockey tournament at he’s like not here mom 😂 is that relatable? Or ….," Azarenka posted on X.
Victoria Azarenka has often spoken about the importance of striking a balance in between her tennis career and being a mother to her son Leo.
Victoria Azarenka: "When I was young, all I wanted was to win a Grand Slam and be No. 1... after I had Leo, my priorities shifted"
During an interview at the 2024 Qatar Open, Victoria Azarenka reflected on how her priorities shifted after becoming a mother, from wanting to build on her Grand Slam success to ensuring that she didn't feel "guilty" for missing out on time with Leo.
"When I was young, all I wanted was to win a Grand Slam & be No. 1, & I’ve achieved it. I wanted to continue and repeat that feeling. After I had Leo, my priorities shifted a bit. I had to find a way to balance myself a bit, where I don’t feel guilty for missing out on some of the time with him and dedicate myself to the craft," Azarenka said.
The former World No. 1 shared that she struck the balance by showing the seven-year-old the hard work and dedication she put into her career, describing it as an "incredible bonding moment" for both of them.
"I think I found a balance through understanding that I’d love for him to see how hard I work and how much I put into it. It’s the best example by showing it. I’m pretty proud he can be around while I’m still playing and he sees what I do. It’s an incredible bonding moment for us," he added.
Earlier this year, Victoria Azarenka's son Leo even joined her on court and traded a few shots after her opponent Elena Rybakina retired mid-match from their quarterfinal clash at the ecotrans Ladies Open in Berlin.
