"Who's your daddy?"- Danielle Collins proudly flaunts her successful bait; poses mid-ocean during fishing adventure
Danielle Collins was recently spotted enjoying a fishing trip. The American player is making the most of her off-season, recharging before the 2025 season.
2024 was a roller-coaster year for World No. 11 Danielle Collins. At one point, she even announced her retirement from professional tennis due to ongoing health issues, including endometriosis and rheumatoid arthritis. Despite these challenges, she had a strong start to the season, capturing titles in Miami and Charleston. However, recurring injuries later in the year forced her to withdraw from numerous tournaments. Remarkably, Collins reversed her retirement decision in the latter part of the year.
The American player was recently seen enjoying some quality time on the ocean. Collins was spotted on a fishing trip, where she caught a big haul. The player shared a photo of her fishing adventure on social media, wearing all black, black sunglasses, and a fedora hat. A fishing rod and bait were also visible in the background.

Staying in Florida, fishing has always been one of Collins' favorite hobbies. The American is always on the lookout for new things, and exploring new activities.
"Bittersweet"- Danielle Collins on her retirement reversal
Health issues were key in Collin's decision to retire from the sport. However, the former World No. 8 reversed her retirement as she felt she could still play at the highest level. During the WTA Finals in Riyadh, Collins explained that tennis provides a mental escape from her health struggles, serving as a safe space for her to focus on.
"So I think right now my career is a really good distractor from everything else that’s going on. Bittersweet, like you said, excited to be able to continue playing but also hoping that the next chapter can come sooner rather than later,” said Collins (via tennisuptodate.com).
The American also expressed her gratitude towards her fellow players on the WTA circuit. Collins stated that other players, with whom she was on friendly terms, have always lent their support to her during her troubles in recent times.
"And a lot of the girls that I compete against and the girls that have become my friends, they’ve been a huge support system to me over the last couple of months - and when I have had the challenging times previously,” added Collins (via tennisuptodate.com)
Collins is expected to start the 2025 season in Australia, playing at the Australian Open. Notably, this is the most successful Major for the American, as she reached the final in 2022, losing to Ashleigh Barty.
