Top seeds Elise Mertens and Su-Wei Hsieh will take on the fourth-seeded pair of Katerina Siniakova and Taylor Townsend. Mertens and Hsieh have already won three titles in 2024, winning the Australian Open, the BNP Paribas Open, and the Birmingham Classic.
The top seeds started their Wimbledon Campaign with a straight-sets victory over the British pair of Alicia Barnett and Freya Christie. They overcame the challenge of another British pair of Emily Appleton and Yuriko Miyazaki in the second round. Mertens and Hsieh then defeated the American duo of Sofia Kenin and Bethanie Mattek-Sands in the third round. In the fourth round, they defeated the 11th-seeded American pair of Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula.
As a pair, Siniakova and Townsend have only played a handful of events in 2024 without much success. Siniakova, however, won the French Open with Coco Gauff.
