Wimbledon 2024 updated odds: Elena Rybakina the top contender for women's title heading into the semifinals, Jasmine Paolini follows

Wimbledon 2024 has entered the semifinal stage, with Elena Rybakina, Barbora Krejcikova, Donna Vekic, and Jasmine Paolini being the last four women left standing. The Kazakh was one of the favorites prior to the tournament and as it progressed as well.

After the departure of several top players, Rybakina became the top pick to win the title, and has maintained that position on the eve of semifinals. She currently has -190 odds to win the title as per BetMGM. The Kazakh's prior and only Major triumph was also at Wimbledon a couple of years ago.

Jasmine Paolini, who reached the French Open final last month, is the second choice to win the tournament with +333 odds. She became the first player from Italy to reach the semifinals in singles.

Additionally, Paolini is also the first player to reach the last four here after reaching the French Open final since Serena Williams in 2016. Her semifinal opponent, Donna Vekic, who's gunning to reach a Grand Slam final for the first time, has +650 odds to go all the way.

Vekic is the first female player from Croatia to reach the Wimbledon semifinals since Mirjana Lucic-Baroni did the same way back in 1999. She was ousted by Steffi Graf in straight sets.

Krejcikova won her only Major singles title at the French Open in 2021. While her run at SW19 has caught people off guard, it isn't completely out of the left field given her accomplishments. She's in last place to win the title with +700 odds, mainly because she has Rybakina as her semifinal opponent.

Elena Rybakina, along with Iga Swiatek, Aryna Sabalenka, and Coco Gauff, have been among the WTA Tour's most consistent performers for the last couple of years. Given their position as the top dogs on the women's tour, there have been talks of them being the tour's "Big 4".

Rybakina is the only one among them without a Major title in the past year as the others are the current holders of the last three Majors. Swiatek won the French Open, while Sabalenka and Gauff triumphed at the Australian Open and the US Open respectively.

The Kazakh could solidify her status with respect to her peers with a title at Wimbledon. She engraved her name on the Venus Rosewater Dish in 2022 with a win over Ons Jabeur in the final. She knows what it takes to win, and is certainly capable of doing the same once again.
