"Wonder what she would think of me now": Coco Gauff rings in her 19th birthday with adorable video of 8-year-old self dancing her heart out at US Open
Coco Gauff celebrated her 19th birthday on 13 March 2023, and in light of that, the American shared a nostalgic video to look fondly back on.
In the video shared by her, the World No. 6 is seen dancing her heart out at the iconic Arthur Ashe Stadium during the 2012 US Open, when she was just eight years old. The American hoped to have the same enthusiasm in the new year as well, captioning the clip:
"dancing my way into 19 likeeee🎉💗 grateful for another year."
The US Open commented on Gauff's Instagram reel and revealed further details about the video:
"The year was 2012 and a future star was at Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day."
The 2022 French Open finalist also shared the reel to her Instagram story and looked back fondly at her adorable dancing.
"Time flies, I wonder what she would think of me now," the 19-year-old wrote on her Instagram story.
Currently plying her trade at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, the teenager will square off against Rebecca Peterson in the Round of 16. In the doubles category, the former World No. 1 has partnered up with compatriot Jessica Pegula and will face the duo of Miyu Kato and Aldila Sutjiadi in the Round of 16.

Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula have been doubles partners for quite a while now on the tour. The duo reached the final of the 2022 French Open and the semifinals of the 2023 Australian Open.
Earlier, during a press conference, Gauff sang the praises of the doubles World No. 5. Speaking about how grateful she is to partner Pegula in doubles, the teenager felt happy knowing that Pegula had earlier expressed similar sentiments about her.
"I'm, like, grateful that I can be our doubles partner, and we have created that relationship. Yeah, and I'm glad that she said some great things about me, because I definitely feel the same way about her," she added.
Earlier this year, the American duo won the Qatar Open, their first doubles title of the season. Pegula has also reached the Round of 16 in singles in Indian Wells, where she will take on Petra Kvitova.
