"You should not have a license, this is a disgrace": Ben Shelton hilariously calls out player responsible for 'outrageous' parking at Cincinnati hotel

Upon his arrival at his hotel in Cincinnati ahead of the ATP Masters 1000 event, Ben Shelton encountered a shoddy parking job at the players' hotel. The American called out the player responsible, humorously suggesting that they shouldn't be allowed to drive.

As Shelton gears up to defend his semifinal finish at the US Open last year, he will make his final preparatory stop at the Cincinnati Masters. The 21-year-old kicked off his North American hardcourt swing at the Atlanta Open, where he suffered a 7-6(6), 6-4 loss to Shang Juncheng in his opening match.

However, the World No. 14 bounced back strongly at the Citi Open, making a run to the semifinals before losing to Flavio Cobolli. After a disappointing second-round loss to Alexei Popyrin at the Canadian Open, the American will aim for a stronger performance at the Cincinnati Masters.

As Ben Shelton recently arrived at his hotel in Cincinnati ahead of his opening match, he noticed a poorly parked car in the lot. The 21-year-old took to social media and called out the player responsible for the "outrageous" parking, jokingly suggesting that they should not be allowed to hold a driver's license.

"Hey, I just wanna say. I just pulled into the parking garage at the hotel in Cincinnati and whoever’s got car No. 164, you should not have a license. I’m sorry, you shouldn’t be able to drive. This is a disgrace. I mean, look at this bruh. That’s outrageous. You should not be driving a car," he said.

Shelton also shared a glimpse of the car, which was parked significantly outside the designated lines.

"Which player got this car tho 😭," he posted on his Instagram story.

Entering the 2024 Cincinnati Masters as the 12th seed, Ben Shelton will take on fellow American Reilly Opelka in the first round, locking horns in their first tour-level encounter.

If the World No. 14 emerges victorious against Opelka, he will take on the winner of the match between Matteo Arnaldi and Tomas Martin Etcheverry in the second round.

Shelton faces a tough draw in his quest for his maiden ATP Masters 1000 title, with eighth seed Grigor Dimitrov likely being his third-round opponent and third seed Alexander Zverev potentially looming in the quarterfinals.

Following his Cincinnati Masters campaign, Ben Shelton will commence his hunt for his first Major title at the US Open, aiming to end the American men's 21-year title drought at their home Slam.
