Nick Kyrgios says he has mended fences with Stan Wawrinka
More than 4 months have passed since Australian Nick Krygios shook the tennis world as he continued his notorious behaviour on the tennis court, this time targeting World no.4 Stan Wawrinka by an infamous sledge at the Montreal Masters in Canada. Following that incident, the Swiss called for “immediate action” against the young Australian.
but the Australian has assured that the relationship between him and the Swiss international has been mended to the point “it’s almost like nothing happened”.
The 20-year old Krygios took a ugly swipe at the Swiss claiming fellow Australian Thanasi Kokkinakis has slept with his 18-year old girlfriend Donna Vekic. To which Wawrinka tweeted after the match saying, “So disappointing to see a fellow athlete and colleague be so disrespectful in a way I could never even imagine.”
What was said I wouldn't say to my worst enemy. To stop so low is not only unacceptable but also beyond belief.

Nick was reprimanded by the International Tennis Federation(ITF) for his ill swipe at the opponent and was fined USD 10,000, leaving the Australian to deal with lots of criticism from fans all over the tennis world.
The ATP also handed Nick a 28-day suspended sentence that would expire in 6 months time. He will also receive a USD 25,000 fine if he is fined for "verbal or physical abuse" during this 6-month period which ends in February 2016.
“It’s almost like nothing happened”
However, the fued between the two seems to have loosen up a bit as they were representing the same team – the Singapore Slammers at the recently concluded International Premier Tennis League(IPTL). The team would go on to win the tournament, with Wawrinka instrumental in the finals victory.
Kyrgios said, “It’s been really good actually. We’ve all been chatting. I feel we’re much more comfortable with each other now. It’s almost like nothing happened. We’re out there competing, we’re playing for the same team, we want to win.”
World No. 30 Kyrgios also appeared to have apologised to Wawrinka through a public apology via twitter at the time.
"I would like to take this opportunity to apologise for the comments I made during the match last night vs Stan... http://t.co/WfFUnSQjYx

He concluded, “That’s been the main thing – is me just getting up and giving him all the energy I give everyone else, and he’s appreciated that and he’s been playing some really good tennis as well.”
Kyrgios will open his 2016 season at the Hopman Cup exhibition event in Perth in early January.
