Paes-Klaasen beat Bhupathi-Myneni to reach Chennai Open semi-finals

Leander Paes and Raven Klaasen discuss their strategy during the doubles tie

Chennai, Jan 8: Top seeds Leander Paes and South African Raven Klaasen fought off a spirited challenge from the Indian duo of Mahesh Bhupathi and Saketh Myneni 1-6, 6-1, 10-7 to qualify for the doubles semi-finals in the ATP Aircel Chennai Open here on Thursday.

Paes, in his 25th ATP season, and Klaasen will take on Spaniards Pablo Carreno Busta and Guillermo Garcia-Lopez, who overcame Ricardas Berankis (Lithuania) and Mate Pavic (Croatia) 6-4, 0-6, 10-4.

Also reaching the semi-finals were the Indian-Canadian combination of Purav Raja and Adil Shamsdin who overcame Roberto Bautista Agut (France) and Stan Wawrinka (Switzerland) 7-6 (5), 4-6, 10-4.
