Alexander Zverev vs Stefanos Tsitsipas preview
Third seed Alexander Zverev will face tenth seed Stefanos Tsitsipas in the quarterfinals of the 2024 Paris Masters on Friday, November 1. The winner of the match will face either ninth seed Alex de Minaur or 13th seed Holger Rune.
Zverev entered the French capital on the back of a quarterfinal loss to Lorenzo Musetti at the Erste Bank Open in Vienna. He began his campaign in Bercy this week with a 7-6(2), 6-3 win over Tallon Griekspoor following a first-round bye.
In a rematch of their Hamburg final, Zverev exacted revenge over hometown favorite Arthur Fils in the third round, winning 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 to book his place in the quarterfinals.
Tsitsipas came to Paris following a quarterfinal defeat to Fils at the Swiss Indoors in Basel. He opened his Paris Masters campaign this week with a dramatic 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 comeback win over Roberto Carballes Baena in the first round.
Tsitsipas then secured a straightforward 6-3, 6-4 victory over Alejandro Tabilo. In the third round, he once again overcame a one-set deficit to send Francisco Cerundolo packing to a 6-7(1), 6-4, 6-2 scoreline.

Alexander Zverev vs Stefanos Tsitsipas prediction
Zverev enters this contest with a 63-20 match record on tour this season with the one title so far in Rome. Stefanos Tsitsipas, meanwhile, holds a 46-21 record with also one title that he won in Monte Carlo. Tsitspas, however, has found more success indoors, boasting 8 wins in 10 matches compared to Zverev's 5 wins in 7 matches.
Both players have been tested this week, especially in the previous round. Zverev won 74% of first serve points, hit 16 aces, and collected 22 winners in his last match, while Tsitsipas, in contrast, won 84% of first serve points, saved 3 out of 3 break points, and recorded 23 winners.
Zverev enters the quarterfinal with an edge in stats and a relatively smoother path in the tournament. However, neither of the pair has displayed their best form on hard courts this season, with most of their success coming on clay. Both of them are aiming for their first hardcourt final of the year, having only reached as far as the semifinals.
This matchup promises to be a closely contested battle between two experienced players well-acquainted with each other. While the numbers favor Zverev, Tsitsipas could pull off an upset given his past record against Zverev and his prowess indoors.
Tsitsipas's form this week has been a bright spot in an otherwise challenging season, and with the added motivation of needing a title in Paris to boost his ATP Finals qualification hopes, he will be eager to make his seal the win.
Pick: Tsitsipas to win in three sets.
