Third seed Alexander Zverev will take on Ugo Humbert in the final of the Paris Masters on Sunday.
Zverev has had an incredible season so far and is poised to finish on a strong note. The German added to his Master's 1000 title tally by winning the Italian Open and also reached the French Open final. He also reached the semifinals of Australian Open, but lost to Daniil Medvedev in an epic five-set bout.
The 27-year-old entered Bercy on the back of a quarterfinal exit in Vienna. He outfoxed the likes of Arthur Fils and Stefanos Tsitsipas en route to the semifinals and then outsmarted Holger Rune to stake his claim for the title. Zverev defeated the Dane in straight sets in the last round, 6-3, 7-6(4).
Ugo Humbert, meanwhile, has also had a splendid season so far by chalking up title winning runs in the Dubai Tennis Championships and the Open Su de France. He also secured a runner-up finish in Japan Open, where he lost to Arthur Fils in the finals.
The 26-year-old entered Paris on the back of a second round exit in Basel. Alexander Zverev vs Ugo Humbert prediction
Despite being handed a tricky draw in the Paris Masters, Alexander Zverev has been clinical at the event so far. The German looked to be in complete control of his matches and has only dropped one set so far against Arthur Fils. He will be eager to continue his stellar run in the finals and capture his second Masters 1000 crown this year.
Ugo Humbert, meanwhile, has done justice to the local crowd in Bercy this week. The Frenchman not only produced magical tennis to outsmart Carlos Alcaraz, but also dug deep to eliminate Khachanov in the last four. He will need to hold his nerve one more time to cap off a sensational week in Paris and claim his first third title of the season.
Both players like to operate from the baseline and execute flat groundstrokes off both wings. Zverev will have a slight edge in this bout considering his high tactical acumen and decision-making skills on court. The German will need to tackle the local crowd and Humbert to get his hands on the trophy on Sunday, but should be able to keep his composure and win the Paris Masters this year.
Pick: Alexander Zverev to win in three-sets.
