The indoor hard court form for the World No. 9 has been one of note in the leadup to the event in Bercy. Dimitrov reached the final of the Stockholm Open before losing 4-6, 3-6 to Tommy Paul. Khachanov won his second title of the season at the Almaty Open, winning against Gabriel Diallo. He followed it up with another final run at the Vienna Open, losing 4-6, 5-7 to Jack Draper.
At the 2024 Paris Masters, the former World No. 8 began his campaign with a 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 (8) win over Australia's Christopher O'Connell in the first round. In the second round, he won 6-7 (12), 6-1, 6-4 over local favorite Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard. He won 7-6 (5), 6-4 against Alexei Popyrin in the third round to advance to the last eight.
