Carlos Alcaraz vs Tallon Griekspoor preview
Spain's Carlos Alcaraz will square off against Netherlands' Tallon Griekspoor in the second round of the Paris Olympics 2024.
Alcaraz began his quest for an Olympic gold against Lebanon's Hady Habib. The Spaniard faced a break point in the very first game of the match but fended it off to hold serve. He promptly secured a break of serve in the following game to go 2-0 up and held on to the lead from that point on to take the opener.
The second set was more routine as Alcaraz exposed Hadid's limitations with ease. The reigning French Open and Wimbledon champion conceded only one game in the set to secure a 6-3, 6-1 victory.
Griekspoor was up against Greece's Petros Tsitsipas in the first round. The former outplayed the latter without much fuss in the first set and broke his opponent's serve twice to claim the set.
Tsitsipas gave a better account of himself in the second set but was no match for his opponent in the end. Griekspoor surged ahead due to an early break, and while he let go of a couple of match points in the eighth game, he closed out the match in the next game for a 6-2, 6-3 win.

Carlos Alcaraz vs Tallon Griekspoor prediction
Alcaraz barely broke a sweat on his Olympic debut as he made light work of Habib to advance further. He won 79 percent of his first serve points and hit 26 winners against 18 unforced errors. He extended his winning streak to eight matches, which started with his recent Wimbledon triumph.
It also marked Alcaraz's eighth win at the venue as he won the French Open a few weeks ago. Additionally, he also teamed up with Rafael Nadal in doubles, and the duo won their first-round match as well.
Greikspoor had it easy against Tsitsipas in the previous round but will find the Spaniard to be a massive step up in quality. Clay is also his least preferred surface, with a 17-20 career record on it. Alcaraz, on the other hand, has an impressive 76-17 overall record on the red dirt so far.
The Spaniard has also won both of his prior matches against Griekspoor in straight sets. Given his form, Alcaraz will be expected to extend his winning record in this rivalry.
Pick: Carlos Alcaraz to win in straight sets.
