Paris Olympics 2024: Complete list of tennis medal winners ft. Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz, Iga Swiatek

Tennis at the Paris Olympics 2024 concluded with much fanfare on Sunday, August 4. The week-long event witnessed plenty of interesting storylines as well as some controversies.

Three-time Major champions Andy Murray and Angelique Kerber participated in the final tournament of their careers. The Brit contested the men's doubles event and bowed out in the quarterfinals, while the German lost at the same stage in women's singles.

Players gave it their all to make their countries proud but only a handful of them walked away with the coveted medals around their necks. Here's a look at all the medalists from the Paris Olympics 2024:

#1) Men's singles - Novak Djokovic (gold), Carlos Alcaraz (silver), and Lorenzo Musetti (bronze)

Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz battled for the topmost honors at the Paris Olympics 2024, and it was the 37-year-old who came out on top. He beat his younger rival in a closely contested match, winning 7-6 (3), 7-6 (2).

The victory helped Djokovic finally capture the elusive gold medal and become the fifth player in the history of the sport to complete a Career Golden Slam in singles. Steffi Graf, Andre Agassi, Rafael Nadal, and Serena Williams are the only other players to have done so before him.

It was a disappointing loss for Alcaraz, who won the French Open and Wimbledon in recent weeks. Nevertheless, it was still a great showing from him in his debut Olympics.

Lorenzo Musetti defeated Felix Auger-Aliassime to claim the bronze medal. In the absence of World No. 1 Jannik Sinner, he still managed to capture a medal for Italy to continue his recent uptick in results.

#2) Women's singles - Zheng Qinwen (gold), Donna Vekic (silver), and Iga Swiatek (bronze)

Zheng Qinwen easily beat Donna Vekic 6-2, 6-3 to capture the gold medal at the Paris Olympics, with her opponent thus nabbing the silver medal. She became the first player from China to claim the highest honors at the Games in singles.

Zheng earlier reached the final of the Australian Open this year but struggled to replicate similar results post that. She defended her title in Palermo in the lead-up to the Paris Olympics and carried that momentum to win the gold medal.

She also defeated World No. 1 Iga Swiatek in the semifinals, handing the latter her first loss at the venue since 2021. The Pole was the favorite to go all the way but after her surprise loss to Zheng, she regrouped to beat Anna Karolina Schmiedlova and clinch the bronze medal. It marked her first medal of any kind at the Olympics.

#3) Men's doubles - Matthew Ebden/John Peers (gold), Rajeev Ram/Austin Krajicek (silver), and Taylor Fritz/Tommy Paul (bronze)

Matthew Ebden and John Peers rallied from a set down to beat Rajeev Ram and Austin Krajicek 6-7 (6), 7-6 (1), 10-8 to seize the gold medal. It was Australia's first gold medal in tennis at the Olympics since 1996 when Todd Woodbridge and Mark Woodforde claimed the same in men's doubles as well.

Ram and Krajicek were vying to become the first Americans since the Bryan brothers in 2012 to capture the gold medal in the discipline. The silver medal marks their best showing at the Games.

Taylor Fritz and Tommy Paul didn't get close to a medal in singles but managed to claim the bronze medal in doubles at the Paris Olympics. They defeated the Czech duo of Tomas Machac and Adam Pavlasek 6-3, 6-4 to win their first Olympic medal.

#4) Women's doubles - Sara Errani/Jasmine Paolini (gold), Mirra Andreeva/Diana Shnaider (silver), and Sara Sorribes Tormo/Cristina Bucsa (bronze)

Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini seized the gold medal in women's doubles at the Paris Olympics. The former completed the Career Golden Slam in the discipline, having won the four Majors a decade ago.

Errani became the seventh woman to do so, after the Williams sisters, Pam Shriver, Gigi Fernandez, Katerina Siniakova, and Barbora Krejcikova. She also became the oldest player to win a gold medal in tennis, surpassing the record set by Djokovic a few hours before her triumph.

Mirra Andreeva and Diana Shnaider bagged the silver medal on their Olympic debut. The youngsters knocked out some experienced teams en route to the final, including defending champions Krejcikova and Siniakova but came up short in the end.

Spain's Sara Sorribes Tormo and Cristina Bucsa defeated Czechia's Karolina Muchova and Linda Noskova to capture the bronze medal. It was the country's first medal in women's tennis since the 2008 Games.

#5) Mixed doubles - Katerina Siniakova/Tomas Machac (gold), Wang Xinyu/Zhang Zhizhen (silver), and Gabriela Dabrowski/Felix Auger-Aliassime (bronze)

While Katerina Siniakova's women's doubles campaign came to an early end, she didn't leave empty-handed from the Paris Olympics. She teamed up with Tomas Machac to claim the gold medal in mixed doubles.

It was Siniakova's second Olympic gold, having won one in women's doubles at the Tokyo Olympics. It was also Czechia's first gold medal in mixed doubles. Wang Xinyu and Zhang Zhizhen got in as alternates in the draw and gave a good account of themselves throughout the tournament, but settled for the silver medal.

Canada's Gabriela Dabrowski and Felix Auger-Aliassime beat Netherlands' Demi Schuurs and Wesley Koolhof to win the bronze medal. It was the country's first medal in the discipline, and the first for the two players as well.
