Serb Novak Djokovic has described the prospect of winning gold at the Rio 2016 Olympics as one of his "biggest dreams".

The 27-year old finished top of the 2014 world rankings by clinching the ATP World Tour Final in London last week after 17-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer withdrew due to a back injury.

"It's one of my biggest dreams. I love Rio and Brazil. I've only been there once, when I played Guga (Gustavo Kuerten) in an exhibition match. It was one of the best experiences that I've had. The crowd was very receptive," Djokovic was quoted as saying by Xinhua.

"Brazilians love their sport. The (football) World Cup this year was a success and now they are looking at hosting the Olympics. I'm looking forward to it."

Djokovic, a nine-time Grand Slam winner, finished the 2014 season with a 61-8 win-loss record, including seven titles.
