Former top 10 player Danielle Collins will take on Greet Minnen in the first round of the Libema Open 2025.
Collins made the third round of the Australian Open at the start of the year. She then lost in the fourth round of the Miami Open as the defending champion a few weeks later. She went down to Jessica Pegula in the quarterfinals of the Charleston Open, where she was the defending champion as well, to start the clay swing.
After a short break, Collins returned to action at the Italian Open. She upset defending champion Iga Swiatek en route to a fourth-round finish. Following a semifinal finish at the Internationaux de Strasbourg, she bowed out in the second round of the French Open. She lost to Olga Danilovic in three sets in a rematch of last year's showdown at the claycourt Major.
A semifinal appearance at the ATX Open in Austin remains Minnen's best result on the WTA Tour this year. Her clay swing was rather brief, competing in two events below the WTA level and concluding with a first-round exit from the French Open. She kicked off her grass swing a week ago at the Birmingham Challenger and beat Linda Fruhvirtova in the final to win the title.
