Sania Mirza to play Fed Cup, Rohan Bopanna recalled to Davis Cup team

The Fed Cup and Davis Cup teams were announced this week by the AITA.

The tie against Chinese Taipei will take place in Indore from 31 January to 2nd February. A win here will take India to the final round against South Korea. A win against South Korea will propel India to the World group play-offs.

This tie will take place at Astana, Kazakhstan from 4th to 8th February in Indoor hard Courts. Sania Mirza will be returning this year in a bid to help India qualify for Zone 1, from which India was relegated last year due to Sania’s absence. Unlike the Davis Cup, the Fed Cup will initially involve round-robin play followed by knock outs.

The only other big name in this group will be Marina Erakovic of New Zealand.
