Serena Williams aims to get even better
Serena Williams has sounded out a warning to her rivals ahead of the WTA season-ending championship in Istanbul by claiming that she was striving to better her current season’s performance.
Williams, 31, is looking to scalp her eleventh WTA title to end the season on a high. The world number one admitted that 2013 was one of the best seasons of her career but believed that she still had a lot more in the tank for the upcoming season.
“It’s definitely one of the best years I have had… I’m still looking to improve and… I have a lot of room for improvement,” Williams said a day before the commencement of the season-ending championship. ” I’m so excited for next year just to take my game to a new level. It’s just been a great opportunity for me to continue to play, so I never thought I would have one of my best years this year but I always just try to keep doing better.”
Williams has played 77 matches this season across fourteen tournaments. Out of the 77, she has merely lost four the whole time.
She has been placed in the red group, along with Agnieszka Radwanska, Angelique Kerber and Petr Kvitova.
