Svetlana Kuznetsova ends her four-year title drought with a win at the Citi Open

Washington, Aug 4 (IANS) Russian veteran tennis star Svetlana Kuznetsova defeated Kurumi Nara of Japan 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 at the Citi Open final, for her first WTA title in four years. "I work very hard every day, trying to improve things. After you win Slams, not winning tournaments — it's really hard," Kuznetsova said.

The 29-year-old Russian collected her 14th WTA title on Sunday, but her last one dated back to 2010, when she lifted the trophy in San Diego. The current world No.26 has won two Grand Slams, the 2004 US Open and 2009 French Open.
