Dutch’s top-ranked male player Tallon Griekspoor will lock horns with India’s No.1 ranked tennis player Sumit Nagal in the first round of the US Open 2024 on Tuesday, August 27.
Tallon was part of the four editons of the US Open in the last five years. He was part of the qualifying draw in the US Open 2019, however, he couldn't make it to the main draw. It was in 2021, he made his US Open main draw debut.
He reached the second round of a Grand Slam for the first time in his career in 2021 by defeating Jan Lennard Struff in five sets. However, he lost to Novak Djokovic in the second round to bow out of the competition.
Tallon Griekspoor was part of the competition in 2022 and 2023, but couldn't move past the first round, losing to Federico Coria and Arthur Fils, respectively.
He is likely to face a stiff competition from Sumit Nagal in the opening round of US Open 2024.
