Anna Kalinskaya was seeded 17th at the 2024 Wimbledon Championships. She faced off against the fourth seed, Elena Rybakina in the fourth round. However, during the second set of the match, the Russian was forced to retire due to a wrist injury.
While gathering all her belongings from the sideline and making her way towards the dressing room, Kalinskaya, who had the opportunity to advance to her first quarterfinals at the grass-court Major, was visibly emotional and had tears in her eyes. Her boyfriend, Jannik Sinner, who was in her player's box, watched on as she walked away.

Taylor Fritz's girlfriend Morgan Riddle takes a subtle dig at the domestic abuse allegations made against Alexander Zverev's after their Wimbledon 4R match
Taylor Fritz who is the 13th seed, recently pulled off an impressive victory over the fourth seed Alexander Zverev at the 2024 Wimbledon Championships, winning 4-6, 6-7(4), 6-4, 7-6(3), 6-3 to secure his spot in the quarterfinals at SW19 for the second time in his career.
Following the match, Fritz's girlfriend, Morgan Riddle, took to social media to share two posts that subtly referenced the domestic abuse allegations that Zverev had faced.
Last month, Alexander Zverev was facing a trial regarding the allegations of domestic abuse made by his former partner and mother of his child, Brenda Patea. The case was settled outside of court after a day of trial, leaving Zverev's innocence still in question .
"Cheer loud ladies. When ur man wins 4 the girls," Riddle wrote in her now deleted Instagram stories.

Elina Svitolina was in tears after her Wimbledon 4R win due to Russian missile strike destroying children's hospital & killing many in Ukraine
Elina Svitolina is having a good campaign at the 2024 Wimbledon Chamionships so far. She is seeded 21st in the tournament and has defeated the likes of Magda Linette, Jule Niemeier, 10th seed Ons Jabeur, and Wang Xinyu to secure her spot in the quarterfinals. During her match against Xinyu, Svitolina was seen wearing a black ribbon on her tennis shirt.
In the post-match interview, the Ukrainian was visibly emotional and was in tears as she discussed the recent Russian missile strike that destroyed the Ohmatdyt Children's Hospital, Ukraine's largest pediatric facility. The devastating blast resulted in the loss of more than 40 lives and left 140 people injured .
Elina Svitolina, who had been vocal about the Russia-Ukraine war, stated that despite her win on the court, she was extremely sad and devastated over the tragic events in her home country.
"For sure, it was a good performance from my side today. It’s a very difficult day for Ukrainian people," Svitolina said
Svitolina revealed that she found it challenging to maintain focus during her match against Wang Xinyu after learning about the distressing news from Ukraine.
"It was not easy to focus today on the match. Since the morning, it was difficult to read the news. To go on the court is extremely is tough. I’m happy I could play today and get a win," she added.
Alex de Minaur suffered an unusual injury after reaching the quarterfinals at Wimbledon 2024
Alex de Minaur is seeded ninth seed at the 2024 Wimbledon Championships. He defeated the likes of lucky loser and compatriot James Duckworth and Spaniard Jaume Munar in the first and second rounds, respectively. He then moved to the fourth round after his third-round opponent, Lucas Pouille, withdrew from their match due to an injury.
In the fourth round, De Minaur faced off against Arthur Fils and overcame him with a score of 6-2, 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 to move to the quarterfinals. However, during the match, Alex de Minaur appeared to have sustained an injury while scoring the winning point.
