Eugenie Bouchard recounted a "crazy" event she experienced during Game 4 of the World Series between the New York Yankees and the Los Angeles Dodgers. Attending the game in New York, where the Dodgers were on the brink of winning the series, Bouchard watched as the Yankees pulled off an impressive 11-4 victory in Game 4.
During the game, she was thrilled to retrieve a foul ball that landed near her foot, only to realize it had struck a woman in the face, causing bleeding and a potential fracture.
"Ok crazy story time: a foul ball comes our way, people scramble, it’s mayhem, and it ends up literally next to my shoe. I pick it up, yay! My first World Series game ever and I catch a foul ball! Then I realize there is chaos in the row in front of us, it turns out the ball ricocheted off a poor lady’s face. It got her in the eye, she is bent over, totally swelling and bleeding profusely, and she can’t stand up," Eugenie Bouchard wrote.
Fortunately, medics arrived swiftly to assist the injured woman. Bouchard took a photo with the ball and ultimately gave it to the woman, feeling she deserved it more.

Ben Shelton and Taylor Fritz trade jokes after Paris Masters doubles exit on latter's 27th birthday
Taylor Fritz and Ben Shelton shared a humorous exchange after their 4-6, 7-6(4), 10-8 first-round doubles loss to Fabien Reboul and Sadio Doumbia at the 2024 Paris Masters.
Celebrating his 27th birthday on October 28, Fritz joked on social media that the doubles loss with Shelton was his main birthday highlight, although he appreciated getting to attend the League of Legends Worlds semifinals the day before.
Shelton playfully took the blame for their loss, apologizing to Fritz for "choking" on his birthday. Fritz, however, lightheartedly reassured him, saying the defeat wasn’t his fault.
"Sorry I choked on the birthday bro," Shelton commented.
"@benshelton this L ain’t on u," Fritz responded.
Taylor Fritz and Ben Shelton also had brief runs in the singles event. Fifth-seeded Fritz received a bye into the second round where he lost 6-7(6), 6-4, 4-6 to Jack Draper.
Meanwhile, Shelton began his Paris campaign with a 6-3, 6-7(8), 6-3 win over Corentin Moutet but then fell to Arthur Cazaux in the second round, 3-6, 6-7(4).
