The first Grand Slam of the year is just around the corner and the excitement has already begun among the fans to find the top contenders to win the Australian Open. The Grand Slam offers an exciting time for all the tennis enthusiasts and this time the focus among Men's has been on players other than the 'Big Four' of Andy Murray, Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer.

Last year was dominated by the Federer and Nadal who shared the spoils by winning two Grand Slams each with Federer being the reigning Australian Open Champion.

We are here to have look at the future stars and the ones who will dominate the court in times to come after the 'Big Four' hang their boots. With the championship starting on 15 January, we look at the top contenders to win among the stars of the next generation.


#5 Andrey Rublev

2017 US Open Tennis Championships - Day 4
The Russian youngster had a good run at the first edition of Next Gen ATP Finals

Though ranked number 32 in the world, the 20-year-old has a very impressive record against the top 10 ranked players. He beat Grigor Dimitrov in straight sets in the second round of the 2017 US Open. Rublev reached the quarter-finals, beating David Goffin in the fourth round in straight sets. Rublev lost in straight sets to ATP world #1 and eventual champion Rafael Nadal in quarters. He was also the runner-up of Next Gen ATP Finals losing to South Korea's Hyeon Chung. With a good run in 2017, Rublev will be looking to upset more top seeds and make his mark in the arena.
