Canada and Serbia looked ahead to their Davis Cup semi-final.
Milos Raonic of Canada, said: “There’s a lot of great things going on. I think it’s a great opportunity for us to be in the semi-finals of the world group and it’s a great opportunity for us to be here, playing in Belgrade against the Serbian team, a team that’s one of the strongest teams I believe. And for us, it’s got to be about going out there and trying to play our game and trying to take advantage of the opportunities if they come.”
Daniel Nestor of Canada, said when asked - What do you think has changed in the Canadian team to bring them to the semi-finals?
“Well obviously our singles play. I mean Milos (Raonic) is one of the top players in the world and Vasek (Pospisil) is coming up close behind. Milos has won pretty much every match we’ve asked him to win and he’s been very reliable for us, so it’s no secret as to why we’re in the position that we are.”
Novak Djokovic, Serbia, said when asked - What would it mean to you to reach another Davis Cup final?
“It would mean a lot. We haven’t played in this arena for two years, since the Argentina semi-finals back in 2011, so we really look forward to seeing a full arena hopefully from the first minute of the first game of the first day because we need that. This is a competition where the home court and home crowd can serve as a great advantage to the team. So we are very much motivated to play our best and hopefully get our country another shot at a trophy.”
Janko Tipsarevic, Serbia, said when asked – What kind of challenge do you think Canada pose?
“If you had asked me this three months ago when Milos (Raonic) was not playing that well and Vasek was I think outside of the top 130, I would have said that we would be comfortable favourites in this match. But things have changed a lot. Milos was in the top ten a few weeks ago and Vasek is already I think top 40 and together with Daniel Nestor, one of the greatest doubles players of all time, they are a really strong force to deal with.
