Video: Ivanovic, Kvitova and Raonic on first round wins

Players react after first round matches at the US Open.

Ana Ivanovic (defeated Anna Tatishvili 6-2, 6-0) – (on her desire to regain the world No. 1 ranking):
“It’s my only goal I have at the moment. I really want to get back to the top of the game. You know, I believe I have qualities to do so. You know, once you’re in the top, you don’t really feel satisfied with being, you know, in top 15. You know, you really want to aim and push yourself. That’s where I am at. I really want to put my head down and work hard and try to maximize my potential.”

Petra Kvitova (defeated Misaki Doi 6-2, 3-6, 6-1):
“Well, actually I don’t think that I played that often on Ashe, so for me was nice to be back on the court. The wind was quite difficult for us, but it was same conditions for both of us. Yeah, I mean, it wasn’t easy match for first round. It’s always tricky and difficult, so I’m glad that I’m through.”

Milos Raonic (defeated Thomas Fabbiano, 6-3, 7-6, 6-3) (on his confidence that he could win a grand slam at this point in time):
“I think I can put myself in that position. I just have to make the opportunities and convert them. I think if I play well, I can get very close if not do it. It’s still a long ways to go, very long ways to go.”
