Video: Restless Nadal checks his watch during Federer's victory speech at Basel

Federer beat Nadal in three sets in the final

People usually associate to looking at watches as a sign of extreme boredom. This not-so-unusual habit seemed to have struck the great Rafael Nadal. The Spaniard was caught on video looking rather restless and uninterested during Roger Federer’s victory speech at Basel on Sunday.

Federer successfully defended his Swiss Indoors title when he beat Nadal 6-3, 5-7, 6-3. Federer, being the gentleman, began his victory speech by praising Rafa for his performance over the duration of the tournament and went on to say that it was like Nadal winning the final.

“First of all, also congratulations Rafa on a great week. I think I can speak for all of us: it’s like you won the final. Because to have you in the finals and come back to my hometown and everybody’s hometown here, it’s very special for us to have this match. So congratulations and, of course, I hope we play many more finals. Well done,” he said.

Soon after, Federer switched to one of his native languages, French and that’s when Nadal seemed visibly bored and restless. He then threw a quick glance at his orange Richard Mille watch, which costs a whopping $850,000 and continued his restless actions.
