Video: Steve Smith takes on Milos Raonic in tennis ahead of Boxing Day Test
Australian cricket team captain Steve Smith has had a wonderful 2017, having just wrapped up The Ashes 3-0 against arch-rivals England, Smith is flying high on confidence. The Australian skipper is known for his exploits on the cricket field, having scored plenty of runs all around the globe.
Raonic, currently ranked 24 in the world, is one of the hot prospects in men's tennis. He has made it to one Grand Slam final and two semi-finals so far. Raonic made it to the final of Wimbledon in 2016 which he ended up losing to Andy Murray. He has eight singles titles to his name as on date and has one of the fastest serves amongst current players.
In a promotional event conducted by New Balance, skipper Steve Smith met up with Canadian tennis star Milos Raonic for a friendly game of tennis.
Steve Smith, when asked about how good he is at tennis, gave a quirky response, "It used to be alright when I played as a kid. I don't get the chance to play that often anymore. No doubt I'll be a little bit rusty first time around. Usually, if I play a few games I get better."
Smith looked good during his rallies with Raonic and managed to return a few of them. It was a good practice session for Smith ahead of the fourth Test against England, which gets underway on Boxing Day.
For Raonic, after a lacklustre 2017, the Australian Open 2018 starts will be the next big target.
