Video: When Robin Haase trolled Roger Federer fans during a match
Netherlands' Robin Haase, who squared off against Swiss legend Roger Federer in a Rogers Cup clash enjoyed a funny moment on the court as he trolled one of Federer's fans, who tried to cheer the Swiss maestro on, while the Dutchman was serving.
The hilarious moment was caught on camera and replayed on Twitter, as it went viral once the video was tweeted.
Haase, 30, took on Federer in the semi-finals of the Rogers Cup earlier this year in August after beating Diego Schwartzman in the quarter-finals of the tournament. Undoubtedly, Federer was the favourite heading into the game.
While setting up for the service, Haase heard a fan shout, "Come on, Roger!"
To this, the Dutchman sarcastically replied, "No, my name is Robin"
This evoked peals of laughter from the crowd. While it is quite obvious that the fan was trying to egg Federer on, Robin tried to ease the tension with some humour which was received well by the gathering.
The crowd, which had gathered in the stadium in huge numbers to watch the big clash between Federer and Haase erupted in loud claps as Robin took a couple of steps back to enjoy in the moment.
Walking back to the top of his mark, Robin looked towards the Swiss legend, who himself indulged in a smile and he acknowledged his opponent's sense of humour.
Although Federer went on to clinch the game and qualify for the finals, the incident went on to grab all hearts which also received a lot of positive reactions from the social media pundits and fans alike.
