Lorenzo Musetti vs Jack Draper preview
Top 20 players Lorenzo Musetti and Jack Draper will clash in the semifinals of the Erste Bank Open 2024.
Musetti beat Lorenzo Sonego in straight sets and then received a walkover from Gael Monfils to make the last eight, where top seed Alexander Zverev awaited him. The Italian was completely outplayed in the first set and lost it to fall behind in the match.
Musetti led by a break in the second set, though Zverev stormed back to level the score and push the set to a tie-break. The former overcame the latter's 3-0 advantage to take the set and force a deciding set. The Italian went 3-0 up in the third set after breaking his opponent's serve twice. He gave up a part of his lead but remained in front until the end to secure a 2-6, 7-6 (5), 6-4 win.
Draper ousted Kei Nishikori and Luciano Darderi in straight sets to book a quarterfinal date with Tomas Machac. The Brit sealed the first set in his favor courtesy of a lone break of serve. His opponent did the same in the next set to level the match.
However, the third set wasn't as competitive as the first two. After the initial deadlock, Draper reeled off five consecutive games to register a 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 victory.

Lorenzo Musetti vs Jack Draper prediction
Musetti staged a valiant comeback to topple top seed Zverev for his third win over a top 10 player this year, and his first on hardcourts. He has also advanced to his seventh semifinal since the start of June, out of the 11 tournaments he has participated in since then.
Draper was pushed to three sets by Machac as well and finished the match on a strong note. He has also been in good form in recent weeks, with a semifinal showing at the US Open, along with quarterfinal appearances at the Cincinnati Open and the Japan Open.
Draper won both of his prior matches against Musetti and in similar conditions as in Vienna. The Brit has won an average of 85 percent of his first serve points here and has fired 11 aces in every match at the very least.
Musetti has won 74 percent of his first serve points on average and has hit only four aces in the tournament. Draper's huge serve and shotmaking are more pronounced on indoor hardcourts, and thus he's likely to maintain his winning record against the Italian.
Pick: Jack Draper to win in straight sets.
