WATCH: Haase or Hood? Robin has unlucky umpire all of a quiver with stray ball

Robin Haase of the Netherlands.

Robin Haase channelled his inner Robin Hood after hitting the umpire with a miscued backhand at the French Open on Wednesday.

While Hood's adversary was King John, Haase was up against the King of Clay, Rafael Nadal, in the second round at Roland Garros.

Already two sets down on his way to a 6-1 6-4 6-3 defeat, Haase attempted to send a winner down the line at the end of a lengthy rally at 1-1 in the third set.

However, the ball headed straight for Arnaud Gabas in the chair, striking him on the leg.

Haase responded by motioning to take a fictional arrow out of his imaginary quiver and aiming it for the unfortunate umpire.

Tennis players should really lay off Gabas, who famously suffered a fractured orbital bone after being hit in the eye by a stray ball from Denis Shapovalov during Great Britain's Davis Cup win over Canada earlier this year.
