2014 Australian Open champion Stanislas Wawrinka has become the fourth player after Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic, to qualify for the season-ending ATP tour finals in London.

The 29-year-old has perhaps had the best season of his career in 2014, having won his maiden Grand Slam at the start of his year in Melbourne, and now has sufficient ranking points to make himself eligible for the tournament in London.

"I'm extremely happy to be back in London. It was my dream and goal to qualify again this year after the great experience in 2013. It’s only my second time at the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals and being part of this great event remains a childhood dream for me,” he said.

He also had a word of praise for the atmosphere in London.

"The atmosphere in London is one of a kind and it means a lot to me to be there together with the very best players of the world," he said.

The last four positions are currently occupied by US Open finalist Kei Nishikori, US Open champion Marion Cilic, Tomas Berdych and Milos Raonic.

The players still have three more weeks to collect the required number of points in order to be part of that tournament in November.
