What is the Coco Gauff reference in Tyler, The Creator's latest album "Chromakopia"? All you need to know

American rapper Tyler, the Creator included Coco Gauff's name in the lyrics for his new song, "Thought I was Dead." The song is included in the rapper's latest album "Chromakopia," which is already generating quite the buzz.

In the song, the rapper mentions American tennis star Gauff in one of the early verses of the song. He alludes to Gauff's serving prowess in the song.

"B**ch, you ain't Coco Gauff, you can't serve me."

Coco Gauff took to her Twitter account to share her disbelief at her name being included in a Tyler, the Creator song. The American reshared the video on X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram. In her post on X, Gauff wrote,

waking up to my name being mentioned in a tyler song… absolutely insane 🤯. thank you @tylerthecreator #Chromakopia

Coco Gauff is a well-known fan of Tyler, the Creator. The American star was spotted at the 2023 Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival musical festival at the end of last year. The event is an annual festival created by the rapper and producer. Gauff also sported a jacket from his brand "Golf Le Fleur" while attending his festival last year.

Gauff also commented on the official video of the song on Instagram. The American No. 1 later shared the video on her Instagram stories expressing her surprise. Gauff wrote,

"Me finishing practice to being mentioned on a Tyler song. This is absolutely insane"

While Coco Gauff's service got a mention in the song, her actual service game is still a work in progress. The American has struggled with her serve in recent times, leading to her acknowledging that it still needs to be worked on.

In her semi-final defeat at the Wuhan Open, Gauff served up 21 double faults on her way to defeat against Aryna Sabalenka. Her Belarusian opponent was sympathetic and hugged Gauff at the net after the match. Now, with the WTA Finals in Riyadh coming up, the American star would hope to improve on her service game and add value to the verse featuring her in the new song.

Coco Gauff has said in the past that music plays a big part in her life

Coco Gauff has earlier spoken about the role that music plays in her life. The American star shared in a video with USTA that she loves listening to music while doing any activity. The 20-year-old also added that she listens to music often while working out in the gym.

“I just like to listen to music, while doing whatever I’m doing. Yeah, I mean, the bike is calming. It gets repetitive for me, so I do switch it up, between the treadmill and the bike but, as long as I have music, I think it’s the most relaxing.”

Interestingly, another tennis player whose name has been featured in songs by rappers is Serena Williams. The former American superstar has been featured in a few rap songs by famous rappers like Drake, Snoop Dogg, and Kanye. Most recently, Williams' name was included by Kendrick Lamar in his popular song "Not Like Us."
