The Belarusian started the 2024 season on top note by winning her second Grand Slam singles title at the 2024 Australian Open. Sabalenka, the defending champion, defeated first-time finalist from China Qinwen Zheng in just 76 minutes to claim her second consecutive title. Famous with the nickname The Tiger, she won the competition without dropping a set and defeated Coco Gauff in the semifinal. With the win, she received a prize money of A$3,150,000 and became the ninth woman in the Open Era to win successive titles at the Melbourne Major.

In 2023, Sabalenka managed to capture her first Grand Slam title, before overhauling Iga Swiatek to become the World No. 1. Although she lost the ranking to her counterpart during the dying weeks of the season, it only serves as added motivation for the season to come. Her WTA ranking is World No. 1 in singles as of November 2024. She has won 17 titles in singles and 6 titles in doubles, totalling 22 titles. At the end of 2024, Sabalenka won the coveted US Open title.

At the 2024 Dubai Tennis Championships she lost to Donna Vekic in the final by 6-7,6-3,6-0. She reached the final of the 2024 Madrid Open where she lost to World No. 1 Iga Swiatek by 5-7, 6-4, 6-7 in the final. She was also defeated by Swiatek in the final of Rome. Sabalenka has won two WTA 1000 titles in the current season which include the 2024 Cincinnati Open and the 2024 Italian Open.

Aryna Sabalenka is well-known for her powerful groundstrokes, especially her aggressive forehand. In addition to her singles Major, she has also won two doubles Grand Slams. Stumbling upon tennis when her father drove past tennis courts, Sabalenka's story is the perfect example of destiny.

I don’t know why but my mom didn’t talk to me for one week, and then she said, ‘I hope it’s the first in the last one, and I said, 'Look, mama, the first one and the last one and then I turned out I said ‘hopefully’.”
