French Open Stadium

Stade Roland Garros, located in Paris, France, hosts the prestigious French Open, which is played annually. Built in 1928, the stadium is named after the French aviator who contributed during World War I, Roland Garros. It is a 13.5-hectare area containing twenty courts, including three large stadiums: Court Suzanne-Lenglen, Court Simonne-Mathieu, and Court Philippe-Chatrier. The stadium is located on the western side of Paris, which is bounded by the A13 autoroute and Avenue Porte d’Auteuil on the north and Boulevard d’Auteuil on the south.

Roland Garros also consists of a large bar and restaurant named Les Jardins de Roland Garros. The stadium was modernised from 2004 to 2008, including a covered stadium. The decision was taken after continuous complaints over delayed matches due to weather changes, resulting in building a retractable roof over the Court Philippe-Chatrier in 2011. In 2024, a roof was also added to the Court Suzanne-Lenglen.
