Roger Federer was one of the earliest to congratulate Andy Murray on his historic win

Yesterday, Andy Murray, in his first ever ATP World Tour Finals final showdown, defeated Novak Djokovic to keep the World No. 1 crown. It was Djokovic’s fifth straight final here, with the Serb attempting to defend his 2015 title; it also marked the first time a Briton had become the year-end World No. 1.
