Williams eases through to Rome tennis final
ROME (AFP) –
World number one Serena Williams swept aside qualifier Simona Halep to reach the final of the Rome Open on Saturday.
Williams was barely put under threat by the unseeded Romanian in a 6-3, 6-0 win on centre court.
The 30-year-old American will meet the winner of the second semi-final between seventh seed Viktoria Azarenka of Belarus and Italian Sara Errani, seeded seventh, in Sunday’s final.
