Wimbledon 2015: Top 5 matches to watch on Day 6

Day 5 of the Championships saw Novak Djokovic,Stan Wawrinka, Nick Kyrgios and Richard Gasquet make it to the fourth round without much of a difficulty. On the women’s side Serena Williams fought back from a double break down in the third set to book a place in the last 16. Her sister Venus Williams also made it to the next round.

2004 champion Maria Sharapova and 2015 French Open runner-up Lucie Safarova also made it to the second week.

Roger Federer and Andy Murray will be in action on Saturday.

Here are 5 matches you should watch on Day 6:

  1. James Ward Vs Vasek Pospisil

James Ward is the only other Brit left in the draw apart from Andy Murray. Ward has come through two four setters in his opening two matches and will have the backing of the home crowd as he takes on Vasek Pospisil on Saturday.

Pospisil dug deep in his first match against Vincent Milllot winning 6-3 in the fifth before taking out Fabio Fognini on Thursday.

This match has all the makings of a classic encounter.

Ward leads their head-to-head 1-0.

Match Time: Around 7 pm IST.

  1. Gael Monfils Vs Gilles Simon

It is an all French clash as Gael Monfils faces Gilles Simon in the third round. Monfils has looked good on grass thus far after pulling out of Halle due to an injury. He won both his first matches here at Wimbledon in straight sets and looks to continue the same against Simon.

Simon dropped a set against Blaz Kavcic in the second round, but has a good record against Monfils. He leads 5-1, with Monfils’ only win coming way back in 2012 at Montpellier.

Monfils will entertain crowds with his antics, but can we get a W against his name?

Match Time: Around 9:30 pm IST.
