Daniil Medvedev vs Grigor Dimitrov preview
Top-10 players Daniil Medvedev and Grigor Dimitrov will clash in the fourth round of the 2024 Wimbledon on Sunday, July 7.
Medvedev secured a straight-sets win over Aleksandar Kovacevic to begin his campaign at the All England Club. He rallied from a set down to beat Alexandre Muller in four sets to book a third-round date with Jan-Lennard Struff.
Medvedev breezed through the first set, conceding only one game to claim it. He maintained the same intensity in the second set and bagged the last four games to capture another set.
Struff usurped control of the match and took the third set to keep himself in contention. The two remained on even terms in the fourth set, with Medvedev ultimately coming out on top in the tie-break to register a 6-1, 6-3, 4-6, 7-6 (3) win.
Dimitrov knocked out Dusan Lajovic in straight sets and then staged a valiant comeback from two sets down to beat Shang Juncheng in five sets. He was up against French veteran Gael Monfils in the third round.
Despite some flashes of brilliance from Monfils, he was in no position to challenge Dimitrov. The latter easily broke the former's serve once in the first two sets, and twice in the third set to score a 6-3, 6-4, 6-3 victory.

Daniil Medvedev vs Grigor Dimitrov prediction
After a titanic tussle against Shang in the second round, Dimitrov was back to his best against Monfils in the previous round. He didn't lose his serve even once, won 95 percent of his first serve points, and struck 25 winners against 10 unforced errors.
Medvedev overcame a third-set stumble against Struff to reach the fourth round here for the second year in a row. He fired 47 winners in contrast to only 17 unforced errors.
Medvedev has gotten the better of Dimitrov more frequently, though the latter won their only encounter on grass back in 2017 at Queen's Club in three sets. Both count a semifinal appearance at Wimbledon as their best result at the venue.
The Russian served and returned quite well against Struff in the first two sets, though he wasn't as consistent in the next two. This predicament of his has let him down quite often against top players this season.
Medvedev has improved his record on grass over the years, which currently stands at 44-21, and has surpassed Dimitrov's 46-32 record on the surface. This one could go down to the wire, though the Russian has a better shot at advancing further.
Pick: Daniil Medvedev to win in five sets.
