Iga Swiatek vs Yulia Putintseva preview
Top seed Iga Swiatek will take on Yulia Putinseva in the third round of the Wimbledon Championships on Saturday.
Swiatek has been remarkable on the women's tour in the last few years. The Pole has an uncanny knack for finding a way to stay on the ascendancy. She's made a splendid start to the season, chalking up title-winning runs in Doha, Indian Wells, Rome, Madrid and Paris. She outfoxed Jasmine Paolini to clinch her fourth French Open crown last month.
The 23-year-old started her campaign in Wimbledon by cruising past Sofia Kenin. She then overpowered Petra Martic of Croatia, 6-4, 6-3. Swiatek is currently on an impressive 21-match win streak on the tour.
Meanwhile, Yulia Putintseva has made a promising start to the season by amassing 30 wins from 45 matches, including a title-winning run in the Birmingham Classic. She also reached the quarterfinals in Hobart, Thailand, Miami and Madrid, where she lost to Elena Rybakina in three sets.
The Kazakh began her campaign in London with a huge win against former World No. 1 Angelique Kerber. She then brushed aside Katerina Siniakova in the second round, 6-0, 4-6, 6-2. Putintseva is unbeaten on grass this year and will be determined to continue her run at Wimbledon.

Iga Swiatek vs Yulia Putintseva prediction
Iga Swiatek is yet to register a strong result on grass. Her best result in the last four years at Wimbledon has been a quarterfinal finish in 2023. The World No. 1 will be aiming to perform better this time around in London.
Putintseva, on the other hand, has been in sublime form in the last couple of weeks. She defeated tricky opponents such as Caroline Dolehide and Ajla Tomljanovic to win in Eastbourne and followed it up with a solid start at Wimbledon. The Kazakh has all the makings of a top player and will be hoping to present a stern challenge in the third round.
Putintseva will know what to expect from the Pole, having already lost to her twice this year. Considering their results on the women's tour, Swiatek will be a heavy favorite to win this bout. However, Putintseva might have a trick or two up her sleeve to exploit her opponent's game on grass and cause a major upset in the third round.
Pick: Putintseva to win in three sets.
