Taylor Fritz vs Alejandro Tabilo preview
13th seed Taylor Fritz will take on Alejandro Tabilo in the third round of the 2024 Wimbledon on Saturday.
Fritz won his eighth career title at the Rothesay International a couple of days before the start of Wimbledon. He commenced his campaign here with a routine 6-1, 6-2, 6-4 win over Christopher O'Connell.
The American was up against Arthur Rinderknech in the second round. A lone break of serve proved to be enough for Fritz to capture the first couple of sets. Rinderknech dug deep to take the third set and keep himself in contention.
Fritz didn't let Rinderknech's comeback take flight and took control of the match in the fourth set. The former broke the latter's serve as he served to stay in the contest in the 10th game for a 6-3, 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 win.
Tabilo beat Dan Evans 6-2, 7-5, 6-3 in his opener to reach the second round, where Flavio Cobolli awaited him. The first two sets went down to the wire, with the Chilean coming out on top in the tie-breaks to take a two-set lead.
Cobolli secured the first service break of the match at the start of the third set, and didn't squander his advantage as he held on to the lead to take the set. The fourth set went his way as well as he bagged a break towards the end of the set to clinch it.
Cobolli's momentum came to a halt as Tabilo went up a break in the decider to lead 3-1. The former broke back immediately to stay on the latter's trail. The Italian served at 5-4 to stay in the match but the pressure got to him as the Chilean broke his serve for a 7-6 (4), 7-6 (4), 4-6, 4-6, 6-4 win.

Taylor Fritz vs Alejandro Tabilo prediction
Tabilo almost blew a two-set lead but subdued a surging Cobolli to reach the third round of Wimbledon, as well as a Major, for the first time. He struck 51 winners but almost matched it with his unforced error count, which stood at 49.
Fritz had it pretty easy against Rinderknech, and despite losing a set, didn't really look in any real trouble. He blasted 41 winners, and had only 12 unforced errors, and won 82 percent of his first serve points.
Both Tabilo and Fritz are on a six-match winning streak at the moment, having won titles in Mallorca and Eastbourne respectively in the lead-up to Wimbledon. However, the American has a proven track record on grass, and has won both of his prior matches against the Chilean, which makes him the favorite in this encounter.
Pick: Taylor Fritz to win in straight sets.
