Taylor Fritz vs Alexander Zverev preview
Thirteenth seed Taylor Fritz is set to lock horns with fourth seed Alexander Zverev in a tantalizing fourth-round encounter at the 2024 Wimbledon Championships on Monday, July 8.
Fritz entered the All England Club after a title-winning run at the Rothesay International. He comprehensively saw off Max Purcell in the final, rounding off a brilliant week without dropping a single set.
Fritz kicked off his Wimbledon campaign with an emphatic 6-1, 6-2, 6-4 win over Christopher O'Connell. He was given a scare in the second round by the big-serving Arthur Rinderknech but eventually came through 6-3, 6-4, 3-6, 6-4. A brilliant all-round display in the third round against 24th seed Alejandro Tabilo saw him seal a 7-6 (3), 6-3, 7-5 win.
Zverev, meanwhile, kicked off his grasscourt swing in Halle. He lost to Hubert Hurkacz in the semifinals after coming through a couple of tough three-setters in the tournament.
Zverev began his Wimbledon campaign with an emphatic 6-2, 6-4, 6-2 win over Roberto Carballes Baena in the opening round. He took on an in-form Marcos Giron in the second round but passed that test easily with a 6-2, 6-1, 6-4 win.
Up against home favorite Cameron Norrie in the third round, the German played some of his best tennis from the back of the court and at the end of an epic third set en route to a 6-4, 6-4, 7-6(15) win.

Fans at the All England Club can expect a thriller between Taylor Fritz and Alexander Zverev as both players head into their encounter on the back of some great form recently.
Fritz has carried his good form from Eastbourne into the British capital, having made a commanding start to his campaign. He's looked destructive from the back of the court and has been equally effective at the net. He's been broken twice on serve and has hit 53 aces at the Championships this year.
Zverev, meanwhile, has also been fantastic on serve and is yet to be broken at the event. He has been destructive at the net and is not afraid to go for the winner. He's been razor sharp on the backhand and has utilized his forehand well as he usually does.
Zverev enters the contest as the slight favorite given that he's seen off Fritz twice already at the Championships. Their contests have been tight and we could very well be in for another one. Fritz does enter this contest in much better form than he was in the past and an upset could very well be on the cards.
