Brighton & Hove Albion vs Manchester United prediction, preview, team news and more | Premier League 2023-24

Manchester United will travel to take on Brighton & Hove Albion at the AMEX on the final day of the 2023-24 Premier League season. Both the Seagulls and the Red Devils have had underwhelming campaigns.

Brighton can secure a top-half finish with a win here while Manchester United still maintain a faint chance of qualifying for Europe. After a bright start to the campaign, Roberto De Zerbi's unit struggled massively due to injury problems and inconsistency.

The Seagulls are winding down their Premier League campaign in lacklustre fashion, winning just three of their last 15 matches across all competitions. They fell to a 2-1 loss to Chelsea in their latest outing.

Meanwhile, heading into Sunday's game, Manchester United risk ending the season with their lowest point tally in 34 years. Erik ten Hag's men could also finish the season at eighth, an all-time low for them in the league.

United picked up a 3-2 win over Newcastle United last Wednesday. The young trio of Kobbie Mainoo, Amad Diallo and Rasmus Hojlund got on the scoresheet for the Red Devils while Anthony Gordon and Lewis Hall added respectability to the scoreline for the Magpies.

It could prove to be a decisive victory for United as far as European qualification is concerned as they are now tied on points with seventh-placed Newcastle United. If United get a better result than the Magpies do on Sunday against Brentford, they will secure a place in the 2024-25 Europa Conference League.

United could still wade into Europe if they can beat rivals Manchester City in the FA Cup final on May 25.

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Manchester United Prediction

Manchester United will want some wind in their sails ahead of their FA Cup final against Manchester City next Saturday. With an outside chance of securing qualification to the Europa Conference League, United should show up at the AMEX motivated to get a win.

But their poor recent record against Brighton and their terrible defending don't inspire much confidence. This could end in a draw.

Prediction: Brighton & Hove Albion 1-1 Manchester United
