FPL 2023-24: Best Fantasy Team for Gameweek 38 | FPL Tips
Nine months of enthralling Premier League action draws to a close on one action-packed Sunday as FPL managers prepare for the final GW of the season. After a very high-scoring DGW 37 that saw many successfully employing most of their remaining chips, GW 38, which sees 10 simultaneous games kicking off, should be a fitting conclusion to the season.
Josko Gvardiol was undoubtedly the star of the GW, scoring twice and providing two clean sheets en route to a massive 27-point FPL haul. Erling Haaland also rewarded his backers with a brace against Spurs, taking him to a respectable 15-point total for the GW. Cole Palmer was also not far behind, scoring and assisting one each across his two fixtures.
I played the Triple Captain chip on Son Heung-Min, but despite his good underlying numbers, the Tottenham captain's blank in both fixtures meant that I took a small red arrow despite an overall decent DGW 37.
Kevin de Bruyne, Anthony Gordon, and Bukayo Saka all have yellow flags next to their name, and as a result, they have been transferred out by most managers.
Josko Gvardiol is the most-purchased player leading into GW 38, with managers also punting on Michael Olise and Jean Phillipe-Mateta.
Whatever your final transfers for the season are, ensure that your team is locked in ahead of the GW 38 deadline on Sunday afternoon.
Gameweek 38 Deadline: 02:30 pm (BST)/ 07:00 pm (IST) on Sunday, May 19.
FPL Gameweek 38 Fixtures
The final GW of the season sees ten simultaneous kick-offs at 04:00 PM BST, with all the focus on Arsenal's Emirates clash against Everton and Manchester City's home fixture against West Ham.
With Aston Villa taking the 4th Champions League spot, attention will also be drawn to Spurs' visit to Bramall Lane, with Ange Postecoglou's side needing a win to seal 5th place and a Europa League spot against chasers Chelsea and Newcastle.

Transfers
1) Anthony Gordon (NEW) (£6.2 m) - OUT | Eberechi Eze (CRY) (£6.0 m) - IN
GW 38 usually is the time for FPL managers to take punts, and I'm taking one by going for Eberechi Eze at home to an Aston Villa side that doesn't have the best away record.
A yellow flag for Anthony Gordon prompted me to look for his replacement, but with a budget restriction, Crystal Palace's talisman seemed like the best pick.
Kevin De Bruyne also has a flag next to his name, and based on his likeliness of starting, I'll take a call on whether or not to replace him closer to the deadline.
Best Fantasy Team for Gameweek 38
Gameweek 38 Bench: Neto (BOU) vs CHE (A), Alejandro Garnacho (MUN) vs BHA (A), Rayan Ait-Nouri (WOL) vs LIV (A), Alfie Doughty (WOL) vs FUL (H).
Despite spending plenty of time outside the top 1 million, I've had a successful final third of the season, starting just inside the Top 300 K mark ahead of the final GW. While it hasn't quite gone according to plan, I certainly have the team to attain a green arrow in GW 38 and close the season on a high.
A Manchester City triple-up in the final GW of the season usually proves successful, and if Kevin de Bruyne is passed fit, then the Belgian alongside Erling Haaland and Gvardiol should haul big in this must-win clash against a West Ham side with little motivation or form behind them.
I'm also pleased that Chelsea have a chance at getting Europa League football at the expense of Spurs as that should have them fired up for the final league game at home to Bournemouth, while also ensuring that there's not much rotation.
Nicolas Jackson has been a terrific FPL asset to own in the business end of the season, with Marc Cucurella also delivering a surprise assist last week. With Cole Palmer completing that triple-up, I'm fairly confident in their point potential at home to Bournemouth.
My Spurs double-up of Pedro Porro and Son Heung-Min have a decent fixture away against Sheffield United, but plagued by inconsistency towards the end of the season, Spurs need to replicate some of their first performances under Postecoglou to win convincingly and seal a 5th-place finish.
Andre Onana was a last-minute buy ahead of DGW 37 with fears that Martin Dubravka may be benched for Nick Pope. I certainly don't expect him to keep a clean sheet, but a couple of save points and a bonus wouldn't be surprising.
Lastly, I'm backing Eberechi Eze to be my main FPL differential this week. He has some terrific underlying stats for the season, and was in great touch against Wolves last weekend. He should be the Eagles' driving force in this match and help them carry on their winning run.
Gameweek 38 - FPL Captaincy
Erling Haaland, Cole Palmer, and Son Heung-Min are among the best captaincy picks on paper for this one, and I'm right now, I'm leaning toward the Norwegian. However, with this being the final GW, I'm not against taking a risk with the captaincy choice.
