Who is Erika Slezak? Everything to know as the actress joins the cast of General Hospital

Senior soap opera veteran Erika Slezak is slated to appear on General Hospital sometime in the fall of 2025. Best known for playing Victoria Lord on One Life to Live, she was part of the show from 1971 to 2013, when the show was last filmed, making her a record holder for the longest soap opera role. At the time of writing this article, details about Erika Slezak's character on GH remain undisclosed.

Both Slezak's website and GH executive producer Frank Valentini's X account announced her entry into the General Hospital storyline. The administrator of her website emphasized that Slezak and the long-running ABC daily soap signed a short-term contract. The actor also expressed excitement for the prospect of working again with Valentini, whom she knew from her One Life to Live days.

The current storyline of GH is going through an upheaval as Port Charles is seeing old relationships break down and new alliances form. As mistrust and mudslinging continue against the backdrop of the titular medical facility, Erika Slezak's role is a matter of speculation.

Although born in Hollywood, Erika has mixed-race origins that include Dutch, Czech, Austrian, and German-Jewish heritage. Her father was Walter Slezak, an Austrian actor and Tony Award winner. Her grandfather, Leo Slezak, was an opera performer. Raised in Connecticut, Erika was educated in a Philadelphia convent before graduating from the esteemed Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London.

Her early career included work in theaters across Milwaukee, Houston, and Chicago. Although she originally auditioned for All My Children, she was instead offered a role on OLTL. Her portrayal of Victoria Lord Riley—AKA Viki—earned her six Daytime Emmy Awards. Erika played the role for 42 years, including in the show's 2013 online revived version by Prospect Park.

Some of the other projects that Erika Slezak was part of include the television movies Full Circle and Next Stop, Christmas. Her TV series credits include Special Unit 2, The Resident, Guest Artist, and Blue Bloods. She is also set to appear in another 2025 release, the movie Song Sung Blue.

While her character on General Hospital remains undisclosed, rumors and speculations suggest a connection to Monica Quartermaine or Jack Brennan. However, longtime fans await the award-winning actor Erika Slezak to make her appearance on their screens in a few months.

Elsewhere, Kristina is trying to solve a bad situation with a worse solution. To stop Ava Jerome from extorting her mother, she plans to use Cody to seduce the blackmailer away from Ric. On the other hand, she plans to push Ric and Elizabeth together in a romance now that Lucky Spencer is gone.

Unfortunately, Alexis is not stopping Kristina from making more mistakes. Meanwhile, Sonny is in danger from ADA Turner, on one side, and the Sidwell-Ezra combination, on the other.
