2025 Wide Receiver Class: Top 5 HS football WRs to watch out for ft. Dakorien Moore

The 2024 recruiting class has barely crossed the graduation stage for some, while others are waiting until later this month and next to partake in the time-honored tradition. But before the summer vacation plans can take hold, there's some major business to be handled for the rising class of 2025!

Here's a look at the top 5 high school wide receivers in the country.

#1 Dakorien Moore (Duncanville High School)

Leading the way is Duncanville High School's Dakorien Moore. Moore, a 5-11, 175-pound, rising senior this coming fall has recently decommitted from LSU.

Moore finished his junior campaign with 1303 total receiving yards, on 65 receptions over 14 games. His longest reception was for 89 yards which counted towards his mind-blowing 20 yards per catch average and 93.1 yards per game. He amassed 15 touchdowns on the season.

With Arizona, Georgia, Jackson State, Oregon State, Florida, and plenty more in the hunt, we look forward to hearing his decision in the coming months.

#2 Winston Watkins Jr. (First Baptist Academy)

Winston Watkins Jr. is the pride of the First Baptist Academy's offensive weaponry. He is a true five-star recruit garnering 29 offers from colleges like Florida A&M, Florida, Syracuse, Michigan, Florida State and Colorado.

Watkins finished with 1,170 yards on 61 receptions over an eight-game span. Watkins, who stands 5-11 and 174 pounds, will be a go-to guy for the intermediate and deep threat lanes once he hits campus.

#3 Kaliq Lockett (Sachse High)

The 6-1, 175-pound frame of Kaliq Lockett and his deep-threat capabilities will have every college recruiter salivating.

Lockett finished his junior campaign for Sachse High with 1,299 receiving yards on 59 catches. He averaged 22 yards per catch over 11 games this past season.

His recruiting book has the who's who of top Texas in-state programs, with the Longhorns (University of Texas), the Red Raiders (Texas Tech) and the Horned Frogs (Texas Christian University) leading the way.

Don't count out LSU, Florida State and Alabama who are all hungry for a game-changing wide receiver.

#4 Caleb Cunningham (Choctaw County High School)

Cunningham, out of Choctaw County High School in Ackerman, MS, produced such good stats as a freshman and sophomore that he took his junior season off to focus on his other sport, basketball.

In football, Cunningham played in 19 games over his first two seasons in high school. He averaged 15.1 yards per catch for 892 total yards and 59 receptions. He's an all-round athlete who can throw the ball as well as rush it.

With a year away from football, Cunningham had a monster basketball season, averaging 18 points per game.

The 2024-25 season will be interesting for Cunningham, who has 26 offers to entertain, including three of Mississippi's biggest schools: Jackson State, Ole Miss, and Mississippi State.

He's also got Alabama and Auburn chomping at the bit.

#5 Jaime Ffrench (Mandarin High)

The Jacksonville, Florida native turns heads his way whenever he is on the field. The fleet-footed, Mandarin High superstar left all the coverage packages in the dust on his way to a whopping 62 receptions for 1,247 yards over a 15-game season. He averaged 20.1 yards per catch and 83.1 yards per game while compiling 14 touchdowns.

Ffrench has all the tangibles to make it in the college ranks where his 6-2, 175-pound frame is something college coaches will look to build upon.

His 35 offers span the whole NCAA Division 1, including Historically Black Colleges and Universities, FCS and FBS elite. His top five schools are Alabama, Florida State, Penn State, Ohio State and Notre Dame.

With summer visits around the corner, we look forward to hearing his decision soon.
