3 SEC teams that can target Carmelo Anthony's son Kiyan Anthony ft. Auburn
Carmelo Anthony's son, Kiyan Anthony, is one of the biggest prospects from the class of 2025. He has been sensational during the summer as he participated in the Nike EYBL and impressed onlookers with amazing performances. He averaged 20.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.6 assists in 10 games
The 6-foot-5 shooting guard is ranked no.31 nationally and is the 10th-best shooting guard in the country, as per On3 Industry Rankings. Kiyan is also the No. 1 recruit from the state of New York. He has received several offers from top schools such as Syracuse, Florida State, Manhattan, Memphis, and George Mason among others.
Let's take a look at three SEC teams that could target Kiyan Anthony during the recruiting cycle.
Three SEC teams that can target Kiyan Anthony
#3 Tennessee Volunteers
The Tennessee Volunteers extended an offer back on May 1, 2023, and became the ninth program to make their interest in Kiyan Anthony official.
However, the Volunteers failed to make the 6-foot-5 guard's final list of six schools he would consider before making his final decision. Until Anthony has committed to a program, all hope is not lost for Rick Barnes and company as they can still push to acquire the New York native before his announcement.
#2 Arkansas Razorbacks
Kiyan Anthony has received considerable interest from the Arkansas Razorbacks. Although the SEC program has yet to extend an offer to the four-star shooting guard, they have made efforts to recruit him.
Anthony is considering a visit to Arkansas as John Calipari looks to build on the impressive recruiting season the Razorbacks had last year. The program's class of 2024 ranked third nationally and will remain aggressive in their pursuit of top talent from the class of 2025.
Anthony spoke about the Razorbacks and their head coach while talking about his recruitment.
"They just started reaching out and recruiting me. But still haven’t offered obviously," Anthony said, as per On3. "Boogie Fland, who is my best friend, goes there. I definitely see all the players he’s been developing and got to the league and where they’re at now. It’s definitely an attraction if I want to go there."
#1 Auburn Tigers
Kiyan Anthony included the Auburn Tigers in his final list of top-6 schools, despite not extending an offer to him. The Tigers' class of 2024 was ranked 22nd nationally, according to 247Sports, and they would like to improve that by acquiring the 17-year-old.
Kiyan is looking forward to taking a visit with Auburn, if they extend an offer to him.
"They haven’t offered me yet," the four-star prospect said about Auburn, as per On3. "I’m still learning about them. Coach (Ira) Bowman reaches out to me every other day. He checks on me and a few of my close friends are over there, Tahaad (Pettiford) and Jahki (Howard) and they tell me about it. I’m looking forward to them throwing the offer so I can go take the visit."
