4 recruits that shocked everyone as they flipped their commitments in the 2025 recruiting class ft. 4-star DT Antonio Coleman

The 2025 recruiting cycle is in full swing, with high school talents announcing their commitments to the best college programs in the country. However, some highly ranked athletes have also decided to flip their commitments during the process.

Flipping commitments is not unheard of, as there are prospects every year who decide to change their desired destination. As of July 31st, 225 athletes have made the commitments, and so far, five five-star recruits have decommitted or flipped.

Let's take a look at four athletes from the class of 2025 who have decided to flip their commitments.

4 recruits that flipped their commitments in the 2025 recruiting class

#4. Jayvan Boggs

The four-star recruit from Cocoa, Florida, flipped his commitment from Missouri to UCF on Tuesday. Boggs' path to UCF has been a complicated one, to say the least.

The wide receiver first committed to the Ohio State Buckeyes, but later switched to Missouri on the Fourth of July. However, that didn't last long, as the 6-foot receiver will now head to Orlando.

Boggs is ranked No.221 nationally and is the 28th-best wide receiver in the class of 2025, as per On3 Industry Rankings. He is also the 34th-best player from Florida.

#3. Winston Watkins Jr.

Winston Watkins Jr., a four-star wide receiver from Venice High School, first received an offer from Texas A&M. The 5-foot-9.5 receiver announced his commitment to the Aggies in December 2021 but later decommitted in November 2022.

After waiting for a month, the Florida native announced his commitment to Deion Sanders' Colorado Buffaloes. However, he announced his decommitment from the Buffaloes in November last year.

Watkins hasn't announced his final commitment yet, but Ole Miss is one of the frontrunners to land the four-star athlete. Watkins is ranked No.191 nationally and is the 20th-best receiver in the country, as per On3. He is also the 31st-best overall prospect in the class of 2025.

#2. Dakorien Moore

Initially, LSU beat out Texas to land the No. 1 wide receiver from the 2025 class, Dakorien Moore. However, despite his commitment, Texas and other schools such as Oregon and Ohio State kept pursuing the five-star recruit.

Hiring running backs coach Ra'Shaad Samples gave the Ducks an edge in Moore's recruitment. On the Fourth of July, Moore stunned everyone by announcing his commitment to the Oregon Ducks, giving Dan Lanning and company their second five-star receiver from the class of 2025.

Moore is ranked No.3 nationally and is the best wide receiver in his class, as per On3 Industry Rankings. He is also the best overall prospect from the state of Texas.

#1. Antonio Coleman

One of the craziest recruiting stories in the 2025 class involves four-star defensive lineman, Antonio Coleman. The 6-foot-2 lineman from Saraland, Alabama, flipped his commitment to the Auburn Tigers from Alabama for the second time in July this year.

His first commitment came in September last year to the Alabama Crimson Tide. However, since then, the four-star defenseman has flipped to Auburn, then back to Alabama, and now back to Auburn.

Coleman is ranked No.130 nationally and is the 12th-best defensive lineman in the class of 2025, as per On3 Industry Rankings. He is also the 11th-best overall prospect from the state of Alabama.
