Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, California, has been a powerhouse football program over the years. They've been ranked in the top 5 nationally numerous times. A plethora of college football and NFL talents once called Mater Dei home and they seem to be doing well for themselves in the league. This list includes some of the top NFL players from Mater Dei High School.
1. Bryce Young (Carolina Panthers QB #9)
Bryce Young played quarterback at Mater Dei High school and was part of 2020 recruiting class. He Committed to the Alabama Crimson Tide, where he was a National Championship winner and Heisman Trophy recipient. Bryce was drafted 1st overall by the Carolina Panthers in the 2023 NFL Draft.
2. Amon-Ra St. Brown (Wide receiver Detroit Lions #14)
Amon-Ra St. Brown was a class of 2018 wide receiver at Mater Dei. He eventually committed to USC and had an exceptional career there. He was drafted 112th by the Detroit Lions in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Amon-ra has become one of the best wide receivers in the league, being named first-all pro in 2023 and was also a part of season 2 of the Netflix documentary Reciever.
3. Quentin Lake (LA rams Safety #37)
Quentin Lake graduated from Mater Dei in 2017, where he played safety. The 6'1 205-pounder was rated as a 3-star prospect on 247Sports and played his college football at UCLA.
He was drafted in the 6th round by the Los Angeles Rams in the 2022 NFL Draft. Football runs in Quentin's family, as he is the son of Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Carnell Lake, who was named to the 1990's NFL All Decade Team.
4. Curtis Robinson (San Francisco 49ers Linebacker #36)
Curtis Robinson spent his high school football playing linebacker at Mater Dei, where he graduated in 2016. He was rated as a 5-star recruit by 247Sports and played college football at Stanford.
He went undrafted in the 2021 NFL Draft but signed with the Denver Broncos but he later signed to the 49ers practice squad. This is his 3rd year with the team.
5. Ryan Stonehouse (Tennesee Titans punter #4)
Ryan Stonehouse wasa punter at Mater Dei and graduated in 2017. He went on to play college football at Colorado State. He went undrafted in 2022 but signed with the Tennessee Titans as an undrafted free agent.
Stonehouse has had a great start to his career, averaging 53.10 yards per punt in 2022 and being named Second Team All-Pro as a rookie.
