Louisville football recruiting class of 2025: Top 3 recruits Jeff Brohm bought this offseason

The Louisville Cardinals haven't had a great recruiting season so far. They have failed to land a recruit higher than three stars and are ranked as the 65th team for the class of 2025, according to 247Sports.

The Cardinals only have 12 hard commits so far, but they would like to improve and land as many top prospects as possible going forward.

Let's take a look at the top three commits that Jeff Brohm and company have managed to acquire so far.

Louisville's top 3 recruits so far

#3 Jordan Allen

Jordan Allen is a 5-foot-7, three-star recruit from Buford High School who announced his commitment to Louisville in April this year. The wide receiver chose the Cardinals over top schools such as Georgia, Indiana and Tennessee.

Allen first visited Louisville's campus in January and made his final decision immediately after his second visit in April. He spoke about his decision following his commitment to the Cardinals.

"On the whole ride back home, my parents and I were talking and we felt it," Allen told On3. "This is the place where I want to be. This place can develop me as a man and as a player. They have a great coaching staff and a very rich program history."

The receiver is ranked as the 690th overall prospect in the nation and is the 101st-best player at his position, as per On3 Industry Rankings. He is also the 76th-best player from the state of Georgia.

#2 Mason Mims

Mason Mims, the three-star recruit from Alabama, was the first player to commit to Lousiville, back in November last year. The 6-foot-2 quarterback chose Louisville despite holding offers from other top schools such as Pittsburgh, West Virginia and Mississippi State.

Mims is currently the 482nd-best prospect in the nation and is ranked no.33 among other quarterbacks, according to On3. He is also the 24th-best prospect from the state of Alabama.

#1 Tyrone Burrus Jr.

Tyrone Burrus plays his high school football at Warren Central in Indianapolis. The 6-foot-4 edge rusher is on Louisville's roster as he announced his commitment to the Cardinals in June this year. Burrus' offer list also included other schools such as Illinois and Indiana.

The Cardinals' defensive line coach, Mark Hagen was a key recruiter in acquiring Burrus' services for next year. The talented edge rusher spoke about the coaches after his commitment.

"I believe Coach Hagen and Brohm will develop me to get to the next level," Burrus said, according to On3. "Really just how Coach Hagen believed in me for a while. Just the relationship with him and atmosphere around the facility."

Burrus is the latest addition to Louisville's roster as he became the program's 12th commit. The edge rusher is ranked 487th nationally and is the 45th-best edge rusher in the country, as per On3 Industry Rankings. He is also 7th best overall prospect from his home state.
